Gift Aid
Make your donation go further – at no extra cost to you!
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities like Luton Foodbank to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate. It’s a simple and effective way to increase the value of your donation and help us support even more families in need.
How Gift Aid Works
- If you’re a UK taxpayer, the government allows us to claim the tax you’ve already paid on your donation.
- For every £1 you donate, we can claim an additional 25p – turning your £10 donation into £12.50!
What You Need to Do
- Complete a Gift Aid Declaration: Simply tick the Gift Aid box when donating online or complete a short form in person or by post.
- Confirm You’re a Taxpayer: To qualify for Gift Aid, the amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax you pay for the tax year must at least equal the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations.
- Relax and Let Us Do the Rest: We’ll handle the paperwork and claim the extra funds from HMRC.
Why Gift Aid Matters
At Luton Foodbank, we’re committed to ensuring no one in our community goes hungry. By adding Gift Aid to your donation, you’re helping us to provide:
- Emergency food parcels to families in crisis.
- Nutritional support for children and vulnerable adults.
- Sustainable solutions to tackle food poverty.
Important Information
- Gift Aid costs you nothing extra.
- You must notify us if your tax circumstances change or you wish to cancel your Gift Aid declaration.
