As Luton Foodbank’s 5th birthday approaches, please help us celebrate the heroes who make our work possible. They are, of course, the people who donate, raise funds, give sponsorship, and volunteer.

We want you to hold a non-uniform day this month, and invite your pupils to come to school dressed as their favourite superheroes. The best part is that by bringing a £2 donation they’ll be real heroes too.

If you'd like to run a food drive or fundraising event, please contact us for advice and a fundraising pack .

If you want to create you own posters, you may find our media download page useful.

Host an Awareness Assembly

Our team is more than happy to present assemblies and deliver presentations about the Foodbank. Schools are invaluable to the Foodbank’s work, so we would be delighted if you would be able to commit to something as basic as 2 days across a 12 month period.

Tip: End-of-year events and collections alleviate the ‘school-holiday slump’ in donations.

Hold a Fundraising Event

Whether a bake sale, sponsored silence or talent show, every penny you raise will make a difference to those struggling to feed themselves.

Send collected money online at lutonfoodbank.org.uk/donate.

Become a Referring Agency

We would love to have your school up and running as a referral agency. This means if you came across a family in crisis, who would benefit from our support, you could issue a Foodbank voucher. They could then take it to a distribution centres to exchange for food parcels.

Hold a Food Drive

Set a date for your collection, and encourage the children to donate non-perishable food items. Non-uniform days have proved highly successful; instead of contributing money on non-uniform day, children bring in food items for Luton Foodbank.

Contact us for advice and for details on where to drop collected items.
