The Holiday Lunch Club is funded by Near Neighbours, and will tackle hunger and isolation by helping children aged 5-11 and their families. The project aims to build friendships and develop trust. We hope it will help to reduce feelings of isolation, raise children’s aspirations, and reduce the stress felt by parents on limited budgets.

The goals of the project are:

  • To tackle hunger and isolation during the school holidays
  • To provide food, fun activities, and social interaction to families.
  • To provide families on low incomes with affordable and healthy meal ideas.
  • To provide an opportunity to taste world food.
  • To give children and families the chance to have fun with each other.
  • To encourage different services to engage and be involved with local needs.
  • To increase parents knowledge and find out what services are available to them locally

So far, the following schools have been confirmed:

Foxdell Junior School (5th April 10am-12pm)

Whitefield Primary School (3rd April 10am-12pm)

St Matthew's Primary School (4th & 11th April  9.30am-11.30am)
